Lavender Lotion Bars
These little bars were super easy and fun to make. I used Ikea ice cube trays as molds although next time I think I will put them in pots. They are soft and luxurious to use, but they do need a container of sorts. I modified this recipe from my favorite recipe lady The Nerdy Farmwife. They were supposed to be made with dandelion infused oil, but my infusion got a little funky...so I went to plan B.
What you need: I used 30g of each. (2 Tablespoons)
1 part finely chopped or grated Beeswax.
1 part Shea Butter
1 part Olive Oil (or a skin friendly infused oil)
10 Drops Lavender Essential Oil ( a skin friendly essential oil)
What to do:
Measure all the ingredients except the essential oil into a heat proof dish. I use a pyrex measuring cup for easy pouring. Place the measuring cup in a pan with a few inches of water for a double boiler effect. On low heat, allow all the ingredients to melt almost fully. Remove from heat and stir to complete the melting. You don't want to over heat the Shea Butter. Add 10 drop of Lavender Essential Oil. Stir well, pour into molds or pots. Let harden. Enjoy!
